    Devotional

My dear friend, today you celebrate a beautiful milestone – your wedding anniversary. What a precious gift from God! As you reflect on the journey you’ve shared with your spouse, remember that your marriage is a living testament to God’s love and faithfulness.

In Genesis, we see God’s perfect design for marriage. He created us for companionship, for love, and for unity. Your marriage is a reflection of this divine plan. Just as Christ loves the church, you are called to love your spouse sacrificially and unconditionally (Ephesians 5:25).

Today, take a moment to thank God for the gift of your spouse. Recall the vows you made before Him and recommit yourselves to honoring those promises. Your marriage is not just about your happiness, but about glorifying God through your love and commitment to each other.

Consider ways you can strengthen your bond. Perhaps it’s through more intentional communication, acts of service, or setting aside quality time together. Remember, a strong marriage requires effort, forgiveness, and grace – all of which are abundantly available through Christ.

As you celebrate today, may you be filled with gratitude for the years you’ve shared and excitement for the journey ahead. Your marriage is a beautiful picture of God’s love story with humanity. Cherish it, nurture it, and let it be a light to others around you.

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of marriage. Thank You for the spouse You’ve blessed us with and for the years we’ve shared together. Lord, as it says in Your Word, we ask that You would strengthen us to love each other as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Help us to be patient and kind, not envying or boasting, not arrogant or rude. Give us the strength to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Father, we pray that our marriage would be a testimony of Your love and grace to the world around us.

Guide us as we continue this journey together. May we always seek You first in our marriage, trusting that as we do so, all other things will fall into place (Matthew 6:33). Lord, we commit our marriage to You afresh today. May it bring glory to Your name and be a source of joy and strength for us and those around us.

We pray all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
